Kenny is STAYING!

Well with much prayer God has worked fast. Kenny has decided this is his home and he wants to remain here with us. We are delighted he is back and here to stay. His natural father in NJ is sad but he knows its what will be best for Kenny. His nat. father has a lot of 'issues' in his life and Kenny wouldn't benefit from that. The living arrangements he was in was also a bit unusual.

But anyway, he is here and we had to literally rearrange the house to make space for him again. We didn't mind one bit, we just did what we had to do. Eric says he knew Kenny would be back, and he said in a year. Well, it was actually just 3 weeks shy of a year. Ironically he is going back to NJ on August 3rd for a short time to say goodbye and get the rest of his items. He then returns back on the 24th for good.

My biggest concern... Kenny finding friends and doing well in the High School.
Kenny's biggest concerns..... Are there any girls around here? LOL

Kenny has arrived!

Well what a day it has been. My Kenny has come back to NC to see us. I feel so complete and the hole in my heart is filled, for now.

I left the kids with my mother in law and headed to RDU. My God's good works I was given a parent pass to go to the gate to get him. Typically that doesn't happen for 17 yr olds but it did for me and I thank God for that. The flight was delayed and I waited patiently. I finally see the plane land and I knew it was his. I just knew. It taxied to the gate and my phone rang and it was him saying he landed. I said I KNOW! I can see your plane. I was so excited to see him come out and I just stood there waiting. A nice lady looked over at me and asked me who  I was waiting for because I looked like I was going to cry. Thats all I needed... my eyes were already filling up with joy and I stood there and told her about Kenny. She nearly started to cry too. Then I saw him. He was so tall and slender. I was shocked. He smiled HUGE when he saw me and I cried my eyes out once I got my arms around him. I was so thrilled to see him. I cried and hugged him more and told him i missed him so much. I then felt this urgency to get out of the airport right now. LOL I was like "Oh Gosh.. I am crying in front of strangers!"  I actually think that everyone else around me was crying too. LOL It was a very sweet moment.

So we are seriously thinking of keeping him longer. We'll see.. we'll know by tomorrow. We are really sort of hoping he considers coming home for good. Please pray that God's plan has this in store for us.

Thanks.

Message to the Stampers not quite 10

I know sometimes finding the drive/time  to stamp and scrap is hard (especially when our friends move away from us). I was thinking and hoping we could do some sort of regular get together aside from the club and motivate our group to keep our scrap book pages coming and get those cards made. Oh and mostly enjoying ourselves.

Its been suggested not once but twice to do a weekend retreat at my hotel in Cary. I am open to it and can do  a good deal on the rooms if we chose to stay over night. We could also just leave our stuff in the room we work in and keep it locked up until the next day for more fun until the sun goes down. This would NOT be weekly. I am sure our hubbies would be a tad irritated. So perhaps we could do this every other month or something? There will have to be a lot of communication on what stuff will be needed and getting it organized so we have all the essentials 'in house'. This is just an option I am throwing out there.

I am free on most Friday mornings (well Friday all day actually) to open my home up to some girl time. Bring the kids and they can play with mine. I am usually starting to get creative by 10:30 AM so if anyone wants to join me.. show up! Don't call.. don't plan it.. just SHOW UP! Bring your projects  you are working on and come have some fun. I will tempt you ... I have the marker set and a Cricut! {insert evil laugh here} If you need paper we'll work that out when the time comes. But seriously, I am here doing my thing on Friday. If I am not going to be around, I will update this prior to the Friday coming.

With that being said  I will available on Friday the 11th. I will have Kenny my 17 yr old son  here visiting from NJ learning all about cardmaking with me. (he should be entertaining)  He is also a great in house babysitter!

If you want to add on your own thoughts.. just comment on this post and we'll see what's on your mind.

How many cards can Linda do in a day?

Well I didn't do these in a day. But over a few days of browsing SCS gallery I had some good selections to CASE. I listed the supplies I used on these so you can feel free to have some fun and maybe do your own in your favorite colors.

Here is a card I CASED from SCS. I did some modifications to it to make it more what I was looking for.

Stamp Set: Pick A Petal & Smarty Pants for verse
Cardstock: Brocade Blue, Generic White (non SU), navy (non SU, had none in that color)
Ink: Brocade Blue, Not Quite Navy
Technique/Accessories: Used dazzling diamonds glitter by SU and 2 way glue pen to keep the diamonds dazzling!

Super easy card for beginners and a great card for any occasion for all!

Here is the same thing in the Pink!

If you are stopping over on July 26th for my Make N Take at my house 1pm-3pm, I will more than likely be doing this as a feel good card "accomplishment".

From my main page, another completely CASED from SCS creation. Its been cased a lot so I have no clue who to give credit to. A cute dragonfly made from PICK A PETAL stamp set by SU! I used some gem stone brads for the antennas and used my own artistic skill to draw the actual antenna. These cute bug will look in any bright color combo!

Another fun one from SCS. Cased a few times as well. I modified it a bit to make it my own.. sort of.

The pick a petal set from SU was again used to create these cheerful flowers. I used the pastels to add soft color to each petal. The petals were stamped in black ink and I added a free hand cut out of So Saffron CS for the center of the flower. A little verse of any kind will make this card a delight to receive.

I found this on both SCS and a tutorial on SU! Demo site. I love love love this card. This will be the July 19th Workshop card for the club and anyone else that attends.

I debated on color but I chose:
CS : close to cocoa, cameo coral, and certainly celery (Kelli's latest favorite!)
INKS: I went with the soon to be retired IN COLOR groovy Guava, Purely Pomegranate and the other one.. its green. And lastly Versamark. You'll get the step by step hands on tutorial at the WS!

I know I found this on SU! and possibly on SCS. Its a great card with an awesome technique using the versamark but this time with the pastels. We will be doing this one at the 10/$10 WS on July 19th as well.

This is also my favorite color combo of the week.

Always Artichoke
So Saffron
Mellow Moss

We'll go over the fun details when you come to the WS in a few weeks!!!

Thanks for looking today! I will have more up really soon!

COMING SOON

COME BACK SOON TO SEE WHAT IS HERE!
